Obamania!

It's an understatement to say that Obama is a big deal over here. His name and image are everywhere. For your enjoyment, here are just a few examples of his name as a marketing tool.

  • Obama Salon (with a rude drawing of a thickly coiffed POTUS)
  • Obama Shop (I have seen so many I thought it might be a chain, but it's just a bunch of people with the same idea)
  • Obama Washing Bay (basically a laundromat without washing machines, where you can come and hand-wash your clothing. It's a real comment on the state of water-availability)
  • Obama Mechanic (This one included a mural with the slogan "Yes We Can!")
  • Obama Pops (The advertisement for these lollipops was much more original: "Yes We Want!")
  • Obama Pens (Yes, there is an entire brand of writing pens called "Obama". Not, like, a line of Bic pens simply called "Obama". It's a brand. His face is on the box and everything.)
I'll keep updating this list as I come across more examples!
